The appliance installation team at Percy's can install anything, well almost anything. We install cooktops, (gas or electric) over the range microwaves, dishwashers, refrigerators (i.e sub zero's and other built ins), and wall ovens. Percy's also installs hoods. Hoods are the hardest to install because there is duct work, floor boards, insulation and lots more in many of our houses but we have two of the best in the business and all the do is install hoods (professional and commercial).

Gift Ideas for Holidays

A few Blogs ago I wrote about a top ten list for holiday gifts. All were practical gifts that are readily available for shipment or delivery. But I received two emails yesterday asking the same question. What are kids getting the parents?? What is inexpensive but not cheap??
Two particular online gifts (i.e easily shippable gifts) are now heads and tails above the other eight items. Navigation systems (GPS) and Digital Picture frames. Thanks to many of you, these are the big stocking stuffers this year. They come in all sizes, shapes and prices. They are practical, and very easy to use.
This is not to say Plasma, Lcd TVs, and Blu-ray dvd's from Sony are not selling like crazy. They are...thankfully. But for price and ease of use, GPS and the frames are hot.

Price Shopping ??

In my last blog I wrote about how important I thought an in-store Appliance Service department is when buying an appliance. We touched on how important price is. I agree that price is very important. However, I believe that service, (i.e customer service) before, during, and after the sale is more important.
Let me explain;
I do not want to over pay for anything. I am a shopper too. But I want to get a fair price, not necessarily the lowest. I want great customer service. I want the phone to be picked up when I call a store. I want the store I buy from to have my information ready or quickly available when I speak to them. I want help when I want it. I want answers when I call from an intelligent human being who does not put me on hold or pass me around a company until I get so frustrated I hang up. I want to call during business hours and get a human being. I want to call after business hours, leave a message and have someone call me back the next business day. I want communication. I know being in business, there is a price to pay for what I want.
Many times in the past I have gone with the lowest price, and with that I always get the lowest service. It never fails. The formula for my life is Low Price = Low service or No service.
Time is limited. Business commitments, family commitments, we all have them. Thus ,I do not have time to shop more than 1 store when looking. Even when I look on the Internet for something, I tend to go to 1 place. I just want want a fair price as I know the store or company must make money to service me, or there will be no company to service me.
So yes, Price is very important, but I hope everyone does not make it the most important factor when purchasing.
At Percy's we make sure our prices are low, and fair. We constantly check our competition to make sure we are competitively priced. We don't lie and say we have the lowest prices on every single sku and model in our store. We do have a price guarantee for 30 days. So if you buy from us and for some reason we are not the absolute lowest price for that piece or those pieces, we will apologize and we will refund you the difference. We also answer the phone and we pick up our messages. As long as I am here, we will have intelligent and caring people answer the phone. Percy's makes a profit to service and satisfy our customers wants and needs. Percy's hires great people who are honest, trustworthy and believe in helping all our customers. Percy's Appliance Service Department

This is the season for Appliance service. Holiday time usually is quite busy and our techs and team in our Appliance service department are no exception. Appliances always seem to act strange or a bit funny around the holiday time. If you feel your Appliances are not working properly or seem a bit slow or are in need of a "tune up" please call us or email us.
We will do our very best to accommodate your schedules and times.
I do get emails from time to time asking me if you need to have purchased your product here at Percy's to be service by our appliance service technicians. My answer is no, but we do give special priority to those that have purchased their appliances here. This means we service our own customers first. Its appropriate and fair to those that bought here. However, we do and we will make every attempt to service those appliances bought at other retail outlets quickly and efficiently.
My last thought on this subject is this:
Before you purchase your next appliance, see if the store you bought it at has their own service department. See how many techs they have, (Percy's has 5 full time) what kind of training they go through etc. Did they pass the training???
An in-store appliance service department should be a major part of your decision on where to purchase your next appliance. I know price is huge . But Appliance service after the sale is even bigger in my opinion. Stores that do not have a in store appliance service department must use factory service from that vendor or small independent servicers. The reason stores like ours have our own service departments is because of factory servicers and small local independent servicers. This is not a knock on them as everyone has pluses and minuses. We just feel that if you buy your appliance from a store like Percy's that has its own Appliance service department, your service will be quicker, more efficient, and more professional because we care about you. You are our customer. We should not be asking someone else to service you after the sale. In fact, no store should do that. If you buy it here, we service you here.
We put a alot of time and money into our Appliance service department, We make sure our techs are professional, have the proper training, and have the proper tools to be successful for our customer. We hope to be able to help you should you need it.
