Price Shopping ??

In my last blog I wrote about how important I thought an in-store Appliance Service department is when buying an appliance. We touched on how important price is. I agree that price is very important. However, I believe that service, (i.e customer service) before, during, and after the sale is more important.
Let me explain;
I do not want to over pay for anything. I am a shopper too. But I want to get a fair price, not necessarily the lowest. I want great customer service. I want the phone to be picked up when I call a store. I want the store I buy from to have my information ready or quickly available when I speak to them. I want help when I want it. I want answers when I call from an intelligent human being who does not put me on hold or pass me around a company until I get so frustrated I hang up. I want to call during business hours and get a human being. I want to call after business hours, leave a message and have someone call me back the next business day. I want communication. I know being in business, there is a price to pay for what I want.
Many times in the past I have gone with the lowest price, and with that I always get the lowest service. It never fails. The formula for my life is Low Price = Low service or No service.
Time is limited. Business commitments, family commitments, we all have them. Thus ,I do not have time to shop more than 1 store when looking. Even when I look on the Internet for something, I tend to go to 1 place. I just want want a fair price as I know the store or company must make money to service me, or there will be no company to service me.
So yes, Price is very important, but I hope everyone does not make it the most important factor when purchasing.
