Most Americans now-a-days have no idea what a VHS or VCR is. Our children may grow up to know nothing of what they are, what they do, or what they look like. Kind of like how some of us may have grown up not knowing what 45's or 8 tracks are, our generations are rapidly advancing in technology with another new advancement at our doorstep almost daily.
Blu Ray has come a long way since it's inception back in 1998. From a Blu Ray Recorder in Japan valued at $3800 to Christmas-time in 2007 having Sony Players priced at $800, people wondered if it would ever become affordable. Now 6 months after Christmas, and you can buy a Blu Ray for half the price. Blu Ray movies are quickly moving up in popularity especially now that Blu Ray has taken over the "HD Movie Fued" from HD-DVD. But not just because of the brand name, HD in general is skyrocketing and is becoming a hot commodity.
Luckily, for those of us who don't want to replace our Star Wars collection right away, Blu Ray players have 1080p upconversion so that whatever you watch will be in High Definition. It won't look as good as Blu Ray quality, but hey, it's still an improvement. Blu Ray also comes from whatever brand you want; LG, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, and Pioneer are the brands we sell at Percy's. You may also need a High Definition TV, if you don't already have one, to display all of Blu Ray's breathtaking imagery. But if you do have a HDTV capable of 1080p, you need to give Blu Ray a shot. You'll definitely be saying "What's DVD?" in no time!
